This is a software tool that helps recovery of back up files in BKF format.
Regular back up is a good protection against system corruption. You can always restore the system to a last known good point that existed as of last back up. Supposing you take daily backups you would lose, half a day’s work on an average and a full day’s work in the worst case. However if this last back up file too was corrupt you will lose a lot more work, that of one additional day at least. This is of a lower likelihood but can and does happen at times. Only solution possible then is a tool like the present one. It can recover data from a corrupt back up file, typically in the Windows BKF format.
The recovery tool has different modes. These are the quick scan, deep scan and partial scan modes. The process is simple. You need to load the backup file first by simply clicking on the load button. After scan, the tool will show you the files and folders structure of the backup file. You can then view individual items inside the archive and decide to recover only the specific files or the complete BKF file. If you right click after selecting a specific file, you will get a recover option. The file then will be saved in a designated location. However, the trial version will not let you save this recovered file. If you find the tool works alright then you can pay for the software and get the save feature working. The simple interface is intuitive. This can be a handy tool in some situations.
